kelley & nora's wedding

Kelley & Nora’s fall Michigan wedding was a beautiful example of what a wedding that celebrates community looks like. Not only was it a gathering of their community of friends and family, but it was deeply connected to local businesses and organizations that make Kalamazoo such a special place to live.

Their wedding started off somewhat untraditionally, with invitations leading guests on a scavenger hunt that visited many of Kalamazoo’s favorite local spots. The first clue led guests to Bell’s Brewery, then Water Street Coffee Joint, on to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and the final clue at Gazelle Sports directed participants to the ceremony site, the Kalamazoo Nature Center.  Nora shared that right before the ceremony, as guests arrived, it rained for just a minute and, in retrospect, it was a beautiful moment.  For the ceremony, their closest mutual friend was the officiant, giving the day even more meaning.

Their post ceremony departure was unique as well. The tandem bike ride (their first tandem ride!) departing the ceremony was their favorite part of the day.  With all the hectic preparations, it was a time to pause and just be together.  They rode from the Nature Center on the bike trail through Kalamazoo, which led them most of the way back home, where they hosted an intimate reception.

More Kalamazoo goodness awaited guests at the home reception in the form of The Organic Gypsy, a delicious a farm-to-table style food truck and wonderful local micro-brews.

Thank you Kelley & Nora for sharing a glimpse of your beautiful, grounded in community wedding day. Congratulations!
