It’s always amazing to see what a heirloom gemstone looks like moved forward into a new setting. Janet was given this yellow topaz as a young girl, and recently asked us to design a new setting for it in a contemporary necklace. The gemstone didn’t look like much to begin with.
We sketched this pendant, placing the vintage step-cut topaz in a round pendant to contrast it’s strong lines and angles.

The pendant was constructed in stainless steel, and the topaz was to be held in a channel-setting.
